Featured Student Competitions
Community Pitch Competition
The Community Pitch Competition gives students the chance to research a health-related social issue in their community and design a creative, real-world solution.

With guidance from a Harvard mentor, students work on their projects over the summer, then submit a 3-minute pitch video and a 3–5 page grant proposal in early September.

Participants must apply to the main conference and indicate interest in the competition. You can work alone or in a group of up to three, and you’re welcome to build on a past or ongoing project—as long as you show progress made during the summer.

Top projects may be featured at the conference, win awards, and be published online or in the official conference book.

Case Study Competition
The Case Study Competition is a fast-paced, team-based challenge where high school students draft a 3–5 page policy brief in response to a real-world health emergency scenario. The prompt is released at 6:00pm EDT during the conference, and teams have a few hours to collaborate and submit their solution.

Teams are assigned randomly about a week before the event, along with contact info and a resource packet to help you prepare. You'll work together virtually-using platforms like Zoom or Google Hangouts—to create a thoughtful, clear, and creative response.Top teams will be invited to present their solutions live at the conference and may receive awards during the closing ceremony.
