Fees are to be paid upon acceptance.
Need-based financial aid are available to accepted students. Students need to email and request the financial aid form upon acceptance to apply. Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and decisions will be sent out from late October to early November.

ACCOMPLISHED PROGRAM ADDITION
Accepted students of the IYRC STEM Winter Program will be able to opt for the Adolescents Caring for COMmunity by Promoting Literacy on Insurance, Stroke, Health Education, Emergencies, and Dementia (ACComPLISHED) Community Health Worker (CHW) Program addition. This program is ideal for students interested in health or academia who wish to make a community impact. Participants will engage in clinical correlates, simulated patient encounters, and skill-building workshops led by physicians and allied health professionals from Columbia University and New York Presbyterian. The program features weekly Zoom sessions and monthly in-person meetings, personal mentorship from Columbia experts, and opportunities to implement a capstone community intervention. Students will educate five family or community members weekly, have access to extensive office hours, and present their projects at a symposium at Columbia VP&S.

As part of this year's ACComPLISHED and Summer Program assignment, students worked in groups to create some of the most creative and informative medical education modules, which are geared towards' patient health literacy and packaged in a way that is interactive, attractive, and easy to understand.
