The ADOLESCENT COMMUNITY HEALTH LITERACY WORKER PROGRAM
The Adolescent Community Health Literacy Worker Program is a new collaboration between the International Young Researchers' Conference (IYRC) and Columbia Neurology Department which offers an exciting opportunity for students who aspire to pursue careers in health or academia and aim to create a positive impact within their communities. Throughout the program, students will delve into clinical correlations, immerse themselves in simulated patient interactions, and enhance their expertise through informative workshops. Moreover, they will have the privilege of gaining insights from distinguished physicians affiliated with Columbia University and New York Presbyterian. Participants not only acquire valuable skills but also put them into practice by undertaking a capstone project and a medical education initiative. As a culmination of their efforts, students are encouraged to showcase their projects at a symposium scheduled for April at Columbia VP&S.
