Presentation Guidelines

Picture
Presentation guidelines for the virtual IYRC:
  • Each presentation is 12 minutes, followed by 3 minutes for questions from the audience.
  • Students are required to check in 15 minutes before their presentation block.
  • Students are encouraged to use PowerPoint, Google Slides, or a similar program, though it is not strictly required.
  • All presentations will be managed in the virtual conference platform, Airmeet. Login information has been shared with accepted authors and registered guests.
  • Please confirm that your internet connection is stable during the conference. Any technical issues should be directed to info[at]the-iyrc.org.
Additional presentation requirements:
  • Accepted authors are required to give a presentation for their papers to be included in the conference proceedings. You may not publish a paper without presenting.
  • Accepted authors must pay the first author registration fee of $40 to participate.
  • Students are expected to give a live presentation during the conference. The committee will consider pre-recorded presentations only in extenuating circumstances.
  • Only the first author is permitted to give the presentation. Additional or alternative individuals are not allowed to present.
  • The committee schedules presentations based on each student's country of residence and school.
  • Presentation styles vary between disciplines. Generally, successful presentations include their research question, methods, findings, and discussion.
